About “Korets’ Landowning Industry”

“Korets’ Landowning Industry” was established in November 2005, to solve the problem, set by the “Favoryt” company — create a closed production cycle of high-quality sugar beet. The key reasons of this step were: insufficient supply of raw material, low-quality of raw material, lack of planted area, general agricultural backwardness, and global tendency of food dearth’s increase.

Plant growing

At present, “Korets’ Landowning Industry” cultivates 7,500 ha of land in Novograd-Volinskiy district of Zhytomir region and Korets district of Rivne region and is planning to expand planted area up to 10,000 ha till the end of 2008. In order to cultivate these areas, there were purchased and introduced mineral fertilizers, made a lot of efforts to renew soil fertility.

“Korets’ Landowning Industry” raises winter and spring wheat, barley, sugar beet, and is planning to raise corn.

Productivity of land index:

  • sugar beet: 500 centner per ha;
  • crops: 29.9 centner per ha.

These indexes were obtained due to foreign agricultural machinery’s usage, foreign raw material (seed), application of high technologies of tilling, complete processes mechanization and minimization of human factor’s influence.

Problems:

  • lack of qualified specialists;
  • absence of obtainable crediting scheme;
  • incomplete legislative base on land relations’ regulation;
  • absence of efficient government support.

Livestock farming

The development of a new course — milk livestock farming — was started in order to supply our own milk-processing factories with high-quality raw material and to create a closed production cycle of milk products. For this goal’s achievement, it was purchased highly productive cattle, put into operation high production technology and created own forage reserve.

Today, the economy of “Korets’ Landowning Industry” numbers 1,000 head of cattle. The average production productivity amounts 3,500 l of milk per 1 cow of dairy herd.
